Jul 24, 2013 · TH-400 trans has a rattling noise sounding like a very loud heat shield rattling with viberation. No heat shield to rattle on the truck. Noise seems to come from torque converter area. Noise only occurs when in gear and accelerating. Any ideas? Heat shield, all seem ok. Recently, when turning the A/C on, when on drive gear and idle, it makes 'almost' same noise. If in parking gear, turning the wheel about a half to left or right, the rpm goes a bit up and there is the noise.
